Increase Efficiency With Duct Sealing Techniques

Peachtree City, right now it’s hot, and it’s difficult to imagine the cold weather’s coming back in a few months.  However, soon enough we will be dealing with the cold temperatures again.  One way to save money both in summer and winter is through duct sealing.

To properly distribute warm or cool air, the duct system that runs through your home must be in proper working order and operating at peak efficiency.  To achieve this, your ducts must be properly sealed and insulated.  You may not be aware that you can lose close to 60 percent of your hot air if your ducts aren’t sealed and insulated as they run through spaces that aren’t heated, such as the attic and crawlspaces.

The same goes for cool air during the summer.  A duct leaking cold air into a hot attic or crawlspace is literally a duct that is leaking money into thin air.  An uninsulated, or under-insulated, duct that runs through a hot area is putting more strain on your cooling unit, shortening its life dramatically.  You can do some simple duct repairs yourself, but to properly prevent this waste and inefficiency, a professional can do the complete duct sealing and insulating job for you.
