If the air quality in your Peachtree City home is poor, it can aggravate the symptoms of allergies, asthma, colds and other respiratory problems, or even cause life-threatening illnesses due to high levels of airborne toxins. Keep your HVAC system maintained and change the air filter often to improve indoor air quality. Have your fuel-burning appliances, like the water heater and furnace, serviced regularly to prevent excessive carbon monoxide levels, and test your home for radon, if your area is susceptible to it. Keep your humidity below 50 percent using dehumidifiers or your air conditioning system to avoid dust mite and mold problems.

When you’re cleaning, use a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter and turn on the fan in your HVAC system to help filter the air. Reduce clutter to make cleaning easier, and dust your home often using moist cloths or disposable electrostatic cloths.
