Repairs such as minor part replacements, changing your filters and checking your system for refrigerant issues is a fact of life for all mechanical equipment. We at Powers make sure to use the latest technology, verify the right parts are used the first time and work hard to make sure we help you find comfort in your home again.

How to setup a service call?

Do you charge for a service call?

  • Yes, we do charge a service fee for each service call dispatched.

What is your diagnostic fee?

  • Our service fee is based upon the service area and time of day. Calling our office is the best way to get an exact service fee. Service fees range from $75 - $190 depend on the location.

When do I need to schedule a service call?

  • When you are not comfortable in your home!
  • You may also need to schedule a service call when hearing strange noises or your equipment is misbehaving.

Where is my filter?

  • That all depends upon your equipment and ductwork design. Some examples:
    • In the indoor unit and should be clearly marked.
    • A filter media system located near the indoor unit but inside the ductwork.
    • A central return grill that has a filter behind the door, these are usually located in a central location of the home.

When should I change my filter?

  • The most generally suggested answer is:
    • 1” - 2” Blue hog hair filters – Monthly
    • 1” – 2” Pleated filters – Bi-monthly
    • 3” – 5” Pleated 8 Merv or higher - Annually
  • If you experience heavy allergies check you filter regularly. You may also want to change it more often. If you have only a 1” – 2” filter look into investing in a specialty media filter system.

Does my outdoor coil really need to be cleaned regularly?

  • Yes, cleaning your outdoor coil is important to keeping you’re your system running.
    • Temperature is not as cold coming out of your vents due to high pressure.
    • Costs more to operate.

Does my indoor coil really need to be cleaned regularly?

  • Yes, cleaning your indoor coil is important to keeping you’re your system running.
    • The air flow over the coil is clogged preventing the air from flowing out of the vents.
    • Costs more to operate.
